National Lottery Community Fund

In these uncertain times we are pleased to announce that we have received a National Lottery award from The National Lottery Community Fund.  Lottery funding is making a difference in communities like ours across Scotland and this funding was only possible thanks to National Lottery players.  We will be using our award to help maintain the fabric of our building and cover our running costs until such time as a more normal life resumes.continue reading →

Co-op Local Community Fund

Symington Community Hall has been fortunate to be chosen to benefit from the current round of the Co-op Local Community Fund, which runs from 27 October 2019 to 24 October 2020. During this round, Co-op Members are able to choose us as their local cause. Every time a member buys selected own-brand products and services, 1% of the money they spend will go to support the Community Hall. News from the Board

Car Park. In September 2016 we celebrated the 10th anniversary of Symington Community Hall and representatives from the various hall user groups together with former Board Members joined with the Directors to mark the event. In response to a request for suggestions as to how the Hall’s facilities could be improved, a proposal was made that additional parking, including a disabled parking area, should be provided. A Warm Welcome

Thanks to the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All Scotland, hall users should now always find a warm welcome when using the Community Hall.  The gas boiler that served Hall One was becoming increasingly unreliable, difficult to maintain and expensive to operate.  The Hall’s Management Board decided that the boiler should be replaced and an application was made to Awards for All Scotland for a grant towards the cost of a new system.  Awards for All kindly met the application in full and a new Worcester Bosch boiler was installed on the 4th…continue reading →
