News from the Board

Car Park. In September 2016 we celebrated the 10th anniversary of Symington Community Hall and representatives from the various hall user groups together with former Board Members joined with the Directors to mark the event. In response to a request for suggestions as to how the Hall’s facilities could be improved, a proposal was made that additional parking, including a disabled parking area, should be provided. New Notice Board

The Board of Symington Community Projects Limited (SCPL) extends its grateful thanks to Stewart Milne Homes for its generous gift of a sparkling new notice board outside the Community Hall. Many favourable comments on the appearance of the new board have been received and the new notice board not only enhances the look of the Community Hall and Main Street, it also makes a positive contribution to our beautiful conservation village. A Warm Welcome

Thanks to the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All Scotland, hall users should now always find a warm welcome when using the Community Hall.  The gas boiler that served Hall One was becoming increasingly unreliable, difficult to maintain and expensive to operate.  The Hall’s Management Board decided that the boiler should be replaced and an application was made to Awards for All Scotland for a grant towards the cost of a new system.  Awards for All kindly met the application in full and a new Worcester Bosch boiler was installed on the 4th…continue reading →
