News from the Board

Car Park. In September 2016 we celebrated the 10th anniversary of Symington Community Hall and representatives from the various hall user groups together with former Board Members joined with the Directors to mark the event. In response to a request for suggestions as to how the Hall’s facilities could be improved, a proposal was made that additional parking, including a disabled parking area, should be provided. A Warm Welcome

Thanks to the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All Scotland, hall users should now always find a warm welcome when using the Community Hall.  The gas boiler that served Hall One was becoming increasingly unreliable, difficult to maintain and expensive to operate.  The Hall’s Management Board decided that the boiler should be replaced and an application was made to Awards for All Scotland for a grant towards the cost of a new system.  Awards for All kindly met the application in full and a new Worcester Bosch boiler was installed on the 4th…continue reading →

Art Classes

The Art Group starts back on Wednesday 7th January 2015 in the John Nimmo Hall at the Community Hall for All. We will now have the hall available from 18:30 to 21:30, following our discussions at the last meeting in December. This means that those who prefer to start and finish earlier can be accommodated, as can those who prefer to start and finish later, as we all have different commitments and arrangements to take into account.
